Why aren't you married yet?

An article for all my single friends out there. I have already been asked this question and the holidays are only beginning. Some advice on how to answer it:

Why aren't you married yet?

My favorite: ‘Johnny Depp is taken.’ ;-)

Well, I see why I do poorly in social situations. My instinctive reaction - answer honestly with a bit of wit (Married? Well, I'd love to, but findi attractive women who share my worldview, a passion for God, and are madly in love with me is proving a bit difficult) didn't even make the list. *scratches off 'honesty' on how to handle situations*

While conversing with a friend yesterday, it suddenly hit me why I'm still single: I jokingly told her that I'm looking for a quasi-Roman Catholic (as opposed to hard-core RC) sound/lighting engineer (I decided after watching the Christmas lights video) who plays the steel drums and/or trombone (yeah mon!). Perhaps I should consider changing my standards...

As for the steel drummer, Jamaica may well be my...ready?...last best hope!! ;)

Well I'm looking for a liberal protestant hockey/football fan who likes horses, rock music, and is willing to follow me around wherever my career takes me. Shouldn't be too hard to find right?

Looking like Johnny or Viggo would get him bonus points, of course. ;-)

Fans of the Colorado Avalanche, Notre Dame, or the Chicago Wolves need not apply. ;-)

I suggest a bit of sacrifice would be in order. Especially if you meet a Chicago Wolves' fan. :)

You guys don't have to find someone who meets all your criteria right away. Just start out with a few things, then slowly get them to be the rest. Alan can find some Love Potion No. 9, Katie can easily teach some dude how to play her instrument of choice, and I think Lindsey can mold any guy into her ideal as long as he isn't starting as a CA, ND, or CW fan.

I SUPPOSE I could even date a fan of one of those teams, since at least it would mean they were a sports fan. It would be hard though. ;-)
